SOAKING RAIN THROUGH WEEKEND...
An area of low pressure developing along the Carolina coast will move northward today and bring a healthy amount of rainfall to the Midstate through this weekend. Expect periods of rain today with breezy conditions. Temperatures will be in the lower 50s for highs. Rainfall will become heavier overnight as a moist southeast flow will help draw Atlantic moisture northwest into south central Pennsylvania. Lows will be in the lower 40s. More heavy rainfall is on tap for tomorrow. Highs for Saturday will once again be in the lower 50s. While not as heavy, rainfall will linger through Sunday. Widespread amounts of 2-3 inches are expected with locally higher amounts. This storm has potential to create flooding issues for low-lying areas and those locations along streams and creeks. The rivers will also have to be watched carefully due to upstream snow melt and rainfall. Stay tuned to abc27 and abc27.com for updates. Have a good weekend!
